Cause:
Excessive valve and bore clearance allows critical line pressure to exhaust causing high or low pressure depending on the location of the wear.
Correction:
The Sonnax oversized valve and tool kit restore the correct valve/bore clearances and line pressure control as well as prevent future wear in this area.
Wear is commonly found at different areas in ZF6HP19/26/32 (Gen. 1) and Ford 6R60/6R80 pressure regulator bores. Wear at the sleeve end causes high line pressure leading to broken drums, pistons or other parts, as well as restricted converter/lubrication flow. Wear at the spring end of the bore allows low line pressure and lube/TC fluid to exhaust leading to a burned converter clutch and premature bushing failure. The Sonnax oversized pressure regulator valve kit restores valve-to-bore or sleeve clearances so the pressure regulator valve can maintain correct pressures.
Hard-coat anodized aluminum valve resists wear
Alloy aluminum sleeve is significantly more wear-resistant than the OE sleeve
